From humble beginnings in the summer of 1995 as a boutique photolab servicing Australia's finest fashion photographers, Pix has developed into a fully-integrated shop, where advertising and fashion photographers can literally begin and finish a job, all through Pix.

You demanded a simpler production process. Now you don't have to make dozens of phone calls to organize camera and lighting hire, production vehicles, casting, locations, creative team, film purchases, film processing, proofing, printing, scanning and retouching. The talented team at Pix can do it all for you.

Because simplicity isn't something you get from ten different places. It's what you get when those ten become one.

About Pix on Location

Pix was founded as a family business in the summer of 1995 by Ben, Susan and Karl Harris. Shortly thereafter Luke joined the business as colourmaster and Wade later took the reigns as operations manager, and the all-star team was complete.

Over the last 13 years Pix has helped many of the world's most celebrated fashion and advertising photographers create their unforgettable images.

Our team has now expanded to include producers, retouchers, photofinishers, equipment hire specialists - everyone you'll need to start and finish a job at the highest possible level.

Pix On Location Hire

At Pix On Location you will find the elite ranges of Canon, Hasselblad and Phase One equipment, along with G5s and Pro Towers.

We own all our equipment, and we care for it like you care for yours, so you'll never have to worry about something not working on shoot day.

 

 

Camera Hire

You demand the best, so we offer the best.

We have the full range of Hasselblad/Phase One cameras and digital backs, as well as all the lenses and bodies you could ever ask for.

For large format we stock the Arca 6/9 movement camera with Phase Plus series backs.

We have a massive stock of Canon bodies and lenses, including the 1DSMK3, 1DSMK2, and 1DMK3.

We haven't forgotten the purists. We have a range of professional film cameras for hire as well.

 

Lighting Hire

We stock a wide range of Profoto lighting in-house, and can source any lighting you need from our lighting partners throughout Sydney.

Production Hire

The days of checking your shots outside on a laptop are, thankfully, gone, thanks to our production vehicles.These high-tech vans represent the latest in photographic production technology.

It features seating for six, Mac Pro Tower capabilities, a calibrated 24 inch Eizo monitor, an HP A3 printer and enough room to transport all your equipment. And if you're shooting somewhere off the beaten track, we have a 4WD version too.

Pix Photo Media, our professional lab in Bondi, is open from Monday to Friday, 8am - 7pm. Our services include film sales, processing, scanning and printing. FILM SALES
